Miam1. The service
Miam estimates the calories and nutritional values of meals and drinks from photos, nutrition labels or descriptions. The service is provided by the Miam team, in Québec.
2. Not medical advice
Results are estimates and may differ from actual values. Miam doesn't replace advice from a doctor, dietitian or other health professional. If you have a medical condition or an eating disorder, are pregnant, or are under 18, please talk to a professional before following calorie targets.
3. Using Miam
- You must be at least 16 years old to use Miam.
- You only upload photos you have the right to use.
- You agree not to harm the service or use it for anything other than its intended purpose.
4. Miam versions and subscription
Miam, the free version. You can use Miam for free, without a payment card: manual meal logging, the food list, water tracking, history and your own goals. Photo analysis, AI estimates and Progress aren't included, apart from one sample photo offered at the start.
Miam+, the 3-day free trial. Each account (email verified with a code) is entitled to one free trial. A payment card is required to start it, but nothing is charged when the trial begins. During the trial, you get up to 3 photo analyses a day, AI calorie estimates from a description, Progress for the last 7 days, 3 themes and custom colors.
Automatic switch to Miam Premium. When the trial ends, your Miam Premium subscription starts automatically: you're charged $6.99 a month, plus applicable taxes. The subscription renews every month until you cancel. The date and amount are shown before you add your card, and at any time in Profile › Subscription. We send you a reminder the day before your trial ends.
Miam Premium. Premium gives you access to every Miam feature: unlimited photo analysis (within reasonable personal use), full Progress, goals built by Miam and every theme. If you've already used your trial, you can subscribe directly; your first month is then charged the same day.
Canceling. You can cancel anytime in Profile › Subscription, at no cost. If you cancel during the trial, you won't be charged and you keep Miam+ until the trial ends. If you cancel Miam Premium, your subscription stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for, then it isn't renewed. Amounts already billed are non-refundable, unless the law requires otherwise. If you believe you were billed in error, write to us at support@miamapp.ca within 14 days of the charge and we'll review your request.
After you cancel. Your account goes back to the free version of Miam. Your data is kept, and manual logging, the food list, water tracking and history remain available. Photo analysis, AI estimates, Progress, goals built by Miam and extra themes are no longer available.
Purchases in the iPhone app (App Store). In the Miam app for iPhone, your subscription is bought and billed by Apple, with your Apple account: Miam never asks for your card and never sees it. The 3-day free trial is followed by $6.99 a month, charged to your Apple account, plus applicable taxes (the launch discount doesn't apply on iPhone). The subscription renews automatically every month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your Apple account settings (Settings › your name › Subscriptions). Refunds are handled by Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com). These rules take precedence over the parts of section 4 that mention a payment card, the launch discount and canceling in Profile › Subscription.
5. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Miam isn't responsible for decisions made based on Miam's estimates. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Québec's Consumer Protection Act.
6. Changes
These terms may change. We'll announce any significant change in the app.
